When coming across an English new word, a growing number of middle school students tend to consult an electronic dictionary to find out its meaning and usage. Using an electronic dictionary does provide students with convenience as well as save time, which helps to raise students' learning efficiency. However, if students become too dependent on the electronic dictionary, they will surely lose the opportunity to guess the meaning of a new word according to the context. Personally, I think sensibly using an electronic dictionary can make it easier for students to learn English and arouse our further interest in English study. Meanwhile, it is my suggestion that students should avoid the harmful effects of overusing the electronic dictionary and learn to apply what we have learned to guess the meaning of a new word.
  第二节:One possible version:
Some universities encourage freshmen to enroll by themselves without their parent's help for students' growing up. Meanwhile the author appeals to parents to develop their chidren's  independent character, which helps students to achieve their dreams.
Personally, I can't agree more with the idea that those universities require freshmen to register by themselves. As an adult, coming to school alone is so easy that everyone can do it well. We had better do things by ourselves for we can't grow up with parents' spoiling and taking care of everything. What these universities did is a good way to cultivate students' independent character and help them grow toughly.
Were I a freshman, I would go to university alone. First of all, my parents have their own affairs to deal with and there's no need to bother them to help me. In addition, enrolling by myself at the beginning of my university will open a new stage of my school life, and I should learn to take care of myself from the start.
When it comes to cultivating the independence of students, joint efforts from students themselves, families and schools are needed. To begin with, when we students meet with difficulties, we had better try to deal with them on our own instead of turning to our parents for help. Furthermore, parents shouldn't arrange everything for their children. Last but not least, schools can provide more independence-developing programs to go with school education.
